Shipping Policies


What happens with first-time orders?


U.S.

Our standard policy for first-time orders is to contact the issuing bank to verify that the billing information provided matches the bank's records. If we encounter delays with this verification, we will contact you within 48 hours.

Once verified, your order will be treated as a priority shipment. You will be contacted if any of the information is not verified or if we are unable to verify the information with your bank. If shipping to your place of employment, please include the company name as this address will also be verified. Incorrect or missing information will cause a delay in the shipment of your order.

For faster processing of your order, you may send a copy of your monthly credit card billing statement (portion showing the billing name, address, and account number) or a copy of a utility bill. These documents can be submitted to us via fax, post mail or email (as an attached image file in .jpg, .gif or .bmp format). Please feel free to contact us with any questions you have regading this process, or any information you feel might help us verify the account details faster.

Please note that we are only able to ship to the billing address of the cardholder until an account has been established. Incorrect or missing information will cause a delay in the shipment of your order.

What are our shipping rates?


USPS 1st Class Mail $3.50 first Disc + $0.95 per additional

USPS Priority Mail $4.00 first Disc + $0.95 per additional Disc

Orders that contain both "in stock" items and "out of stock" items will be shipped in multiple shipments. Below is an example that will help explain this further.

Normal shipping time within the USA

Orders sent by our standard method, U.S. Postal Service (1st Class and/or Priority Mail) normally take 2-3 business days from the day it is shipped.

P.O. boxes within the USA

Delivery to Post Office boxes can only be made by the U.S. Postal Service. There is no upgrade available. If you choose an upgrade to a PO Box during checkout it will only delay your shipment.

Lost or Damaged Shipments

Damage by the U.S. Post Office: Return only those items that were damaged to us in their original shipping carton. In order to replace your damaged items, we must have the original shipping carton to effect our insurance claim. Once our insurance claim has been approved, we will ship you a replacement order or provide credit.

Lost orders

If you feel that your order may have been lost in transit, please call or write us. We will trace your order and file for insurance coverage, if necessary. Once the insurance claim has been approved, we will ship you a replacement order or provide credit.

International Destinations

Shipments made to destinations outside the USA will ONLY ship to the billing address of the customer, no exceptions. All International shipments will be made by USPS Global Priority Mail ($11.00 first disc + $2.00 per additional)

Customs, Duties and Confiscated International Shipments

We are not able to lower the value of a shipment for customs purposes. We are not responsible for customs fees. If your customs and /or local government confiscates your order, Other Cinema DVD will in no way be held responsible. You are, however, responsible for the costs of the discs, shipping and any return shipping charges that are incurred.

Charges for Shipments to Canada

$6.00 first disc + $2.00 each additional (per Shipment)




Purchase & Return Terms & Conditions


Defective Return Policy

In the event that an item purchased from Other Cinema DVD is defective, we will exchange the disc under for a copy of the same title, provided the title is still currently available in our regular inventory. If the title is no longer available, this warranty is void. Proof of purchase is mandatory, and discs will be exchanged only. No refunds!

The customer is responsible for all shipping charges for returned items.

This warranty does not cover the following:
  • Physical damage from shipping (see damage claims) handling, abuse, or operation of defective or maladjusted equipment.
  • Any disc not in pristine "like new" condition.
  • Discs, jackets, or cases that show excessive wear beyond the normal handling required to detect a defect including, but is not limited to, discs used for rental and discs, jackets, and cases that have been marked with stickers, ink, or any other non-removable materials.
  • Any disc that does not clearly show an audio or video defect. 'Did not like' or 'poor transfer (video) quality' are not acceptable defects.
  • Unfortunately, certain models of DVD players are not able to play certain DVDs. Other Cinema DVD cannot be held responsible for discs that cannot be played on certain systems. However, Other Cinema DVD will exchange the incompatible title with another title provided the warranty conditions are met. Items not accepted under the terms of this warranty will be returned, freight collect, to the sender.
Defective exchanges must be accompanied by the following information:
  • The brand name of your DVD player.
  • The exact location (time, chapter, frame, side) of the defect.
  • The nature of the defect (e.g., disc skips at 30 min, chap 3, side 1). Returned titles must be in their original factory packaging. Enclose with each returned title the following information:
  • Your name, address and telephone number.
  • A copy of your Other Cinema DVD receipt as proof of purchase.
  • The reason why you are returning the title.
  • When returning items to us, use a sturdy carton that will prevent damage to the disc. Do not use a Jiffy Bag, brown paper, or other soft containers. It is strongly suggested that discs be returned via the U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail, for shipping charges between $3 to no more than $10. To save money on shipping, do not use a third party shipping or packaging service. Parcel post packages will require insurance to be purchased separately.

Non-defective return policies

Only sealed, unopened titles will be accepted for credit, exchange, or refund within 30 days of purchase. Discs must be in "like new" condition in order for us to issue credit. Any disc not meeting these conditions will be returned to you and no credit issued. Credit will not be issued for shipping charges and you will be charged a shipping charge for exchanges. A copy of your original purchase receipt is required.

Returned titles must be in their original factory packaging. Enclose with each returned title the following information:
  1. Your name, address and telephone number.
  2. A copy of your Other Cinema DVD receipt as proof of purchase.
  3. The reason why you are returning the title.
